I am an Engineer-turned-Psychotherapist. I have a BE in Computer Science and Engineering and 16 years of corporate experience in the IT and Banking & Financial Services domain. I worked for corporate giants like Tata Consultancy Services and Accenture, as well as for Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Westpac Banking Corporation, Australia's top two banks. 

I started working in the mental health sector as a Suicide Counsellor for Lifeline Australia in 2010, whilst still in my corporate job. I continued juggling my corporate job with various roles in the social services and family work sector, before deciding to quit the corporate and transition fully into the mental health sector. I now work as a Counselling Psychologist and am a specialist in psychological trauma. 

I am also a fully qualified Family Mediator as per Australian Government guidelines, although I currently don't practice mediation.

I specialise in Anxiety & Depression, Treatment-resistant Mood Disorders, Psychological Trauma, particularly Early-life trauma, Self and Interpersonal Relationship issues. My therapeutic approach is integrative, and I predominantly use EMDR, and Ego-state therapy and include CBT or ACT when needed. I am an EMDR Certified Therapist™, accredited by EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). Majority of my clients are 18+ although I still see families and younger children. 

I grew up in Guwahati, Assam, but lived my 20s and 30s in Australia. I am now back in my hometown where I have a private practice. I've lived and worked in two very different countries, with two very different work and social cultures. I've built careers in two very different sectors. This multicultural and diverse experience is often reflected in my counselling work, and I find clients appreciate this.
