about me

I am an Engineer-turned-Psychotherapist. I have a BE in Computer Science and Engineering and 16 years of corporate experience in the IT and Banking & Financial Services domain. I worked for corporate giants like Tata Consultancy Services and Accenture, as well as for Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Westpac Banking Corporation, Australia's top two banks.

I started working in the mental health sector as a Suicide Counsellor for Lifeline Australia in 2010, whilst still in my corporate job. Over the years I took up a few postgraduate courses and transitioned fully into mental health sector, where I now work as a Counselling Psychologist.

I am also a fully qualified Family Mediator as per Australian Government guidelines, although I currently don't practice mediation.

I grew up in Guwahati, Assam, but lived my 20s and 30s in Australia. I am now back in my hometown where I have a private practice. I've lived and worked in two very different countries, with two very different work and social cultures. I've built careers in two very different sectors. This diversity is often reflected in my counselling work, and I find clients appreciate this.

I have a diverse set of qualifications in some different but related areas. All my degrees and professional training related to mental health and psychology are from Australia and the US.

I am an EMDR Certified Therapist™ accredited by EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), Texas, USA.
